2018-2019 Volkswagen Tiguan Reviews

The Volkswagen fans should be looking forward to the second generation of the well-known Tiguan. The newest VW’s mid-size crossover is on its way to hit the market as a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan model. The concept was revealed at the 2017 North American International Auto Show and ever since then the fans have been waiting to see the changes and improvements that the new Tiguan will bring.

EXTERIOR

As we have already mentioned, the 2019 Tiguan is going to make its appearance as a mid-size crossover, but larger in dimensions than its predecessor. Namely, this model will have a wheelbase that will be up to 10 inches longer which means more space inside its cabin. When it comes to platform, this SUV will be based on the MBQ modular platform that has already been seen on models such as Audi A3 and Q7. The newest Tiguan will undergo some minor refreshments in terms of exterior features, but it will certainly be more attractive and dynamic than the previous model. The front fascia will appear rounder and it will wear a redesigned slimmer grille. The headlights will use the latest LED technology and you will notice a larger air intake. The new Tiguan will be standing on 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels as standard.

INTERIOR

The interior of the 2018-2019 Volkswagen Tiguan will be modern and spacious. It will offer two rows of stylish seats, but this crossover might provide a version with an optional third row. Due to its longer wheelbase, you can expect more legroom and also more space for your cargo. The seats will be covered in high-quality materials and even leather in higher trim levels. The driver will get a leather-wrapped steering wheel that will be heated and multifunctional. There will also be two displays - an 8.0-inch information display and a 12.3-inch touch-screen display in the center console that will provide the latest infotainment and entertainment system. When it comes to safety systems and driver assist features, these will include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and more.

ENGINE

The most probable option that will appear under the hood of the 2018-2019 Volkswagen Tiguan will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. Such an engine is expected to deliver 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new Tiguan is also expected to be more efficient with better fuel economy.

RELEASE DATE AND PRICE

The release date has not been confirmed yet, but the new Tiguan should be expected in the market in 2018, probably by this summer. The estimated price starts around $26,000 before options. It could go up to $40,000, depending on the trim level you choose.
